Project Description

Novo Remedial Solutions Ltd was appointed to deliver the construction of a new hydrotherapy pool designed to provide therapeutic benefits for students with special needs. The facility supports physical rehabilitation, relaxation and overall wellbeing within a safe and controlled environment.

The project required a carefully coordinated construction approach, ensuring structural integrity, durability and a high-quality finish suitable for specialist use.

Scope of Works

The works involved the full construction of the reinforced concrete pool structure, including preparation, formwork, reinforcement and concrete placement.

Methodology

1. Site & Concrete Preparation

Multiple site visits were carried out to ensure accurate measurements and planning. Existing concrete was cut and prepared to allow correct installation of shuttering and ensure alignment with the design specification.

2. Reinforcement Installation

Steel reinforcement bars were installed in accordance with engineering requirements to provide structural strength and durability. All reinforcement was securely fixed to maintain stability during the concrete pour.

3. Shuttering & Formwork

Shuttering systems were constructed to define the pool structure. Quality checks were carried out to ensure integrity and prevent leakage during concrete placement.

4. Concrete Placement

Concrete was mixed and poured to specification, with vibration techniques used to eliminate air pockets and achieve a consistent, high-quality finish.

5. Finishing & Preparation

Once cured, the shuttering was removed and the structure inspected. Surfaces were prepared to a suitable standard for follow-on works, including tiling.
